Weekly ethanol production back over a million barrels a day

U.S. ethanol production bounced back last week.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says production averaged 1.032 million barrels a day, up 47,000 from the previous week, as some plants came back on line after seasonal maintenance. The industry continues to prepare for increased demand as summer fuel blends start hitting the market, while waiting for potential changes to U.S. policy.

Stocks jumped 441,000 barrels to 22.142 million. A year ago, domestic supplies were 23.213 million barrels.

The USDA expects a record amount of corn to be used for ethanol production this marketing year, with updated projections out May 10th.
