Driver who died after Golden Gate Parkway crash near I-75 was Tequesta man, 48

The Florida Highway Patrol identified the man who died after a crash Friday afternoon on Golden Gate Parkway near Interstate 75 as Joseph Marinovich, 48, of Tequesta. 

Marinovich was driving a 2012 Chevy Camaro east in the outside lane of Golden Gate Parkway, west of I-75, and failed to stop for traffic, according to an FHP release. The front of the Camaro rear-ended a 2012 Honda Civic sitting in traffic in the same lane.

The Camaro crossed the median, all opposing lanes of traffic, jumped the curb of Golden Gate Parkway and crashed into a palm tree before stopping, the release states. 

Marinovich was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died, according to FHP. The driver of the Honda Civic was not hurt. 

FHP was investigating the crash.
