DIY Natural Bug Spray

It is officially that time of year again….Summer! This usually means bringing bug spray and suntan lotion out by the buckets to keep ourselves safe and protected. Bugs can be one of the worst parts of the summer as they are annoying and can really ruin an afternoon if you happen to get bitten by one. Luckily, there is an easy, natural solution to keep bugs away and off your skin. It won’t take much time or work to whip up this natural spray and your skin will thank you! Check out the instructions below to make your own DIY natural bug spray:

Ingredients Needed:

  • Essential Oils Such As: Citronella, Lavender, Rosemary, Mint, Tea Tree etc.
  • Witch Hazel
  • Water
  • Spray Bottle

Instructions:

  1. Start by deciding on what essential oils you want to use. You can use as many or as little as you would like. Almost any oil scent will work for this spray.
  2. Fill your spray bottle half full of water. Then add witch hazel until the bottle is almost full, leaving just enough room for the oils.
  3. Next, drop in about 30-60 drops of essential oils of your choice. This will not only aid in keeping the bugs away, it will give the spray a wonderful smell!
  4. Finally, close the lid on the spray bottle and give it a good shake to mix the ingredients around. Once mixed, the spray is ready to use and will fight off the annoying summer bugs without the use of chemical sprays!
