From his jorts to his phone, Baker Mayfield's draft-day impression of Brett Favre is picture perfect
JR RadcliffeJorts are making a comeback, and University of Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield is leading the charge.
On the eve of the 2018 NFL draft, when Mayfield is likely to hear his name called early in the first round Thursday, he used Twitter to spoof a legendary photograph taken the day Brett Favre was chosen in the second round of the 1991 draft by the Atlanta Falcons. The image of Favre lying on his bed while on the phone followed him around throughout his Hall of Fame NFL career.
From the homemade T-shirts commemorating the day worn by family members in the background to the oversized portable phone to the wood paneling and accompanying decor to the jean shorts, it's a note-perfect homage, complete with a Favre quote.

On Thursday morning, The Gunslinger tweeted back a glorious response.
Mayfield could be in the mix for the No. 1 overall pick to the Cleveland Browns. That would put him well ahead of Favre, who was the 33rd overall pick out of Southern Miss.
The 2017 Heisman Trophy winner was the subject of a story Tuesday in the New York Post that relayed a humorous anecdote from the web docu-series "Next Level: Behind Baker." As agents were courting Mayfield, the quarterback said he hung up on Favre's longtime agent, Bus Cook, after Mayfield realized Cook was unaware that Mayfield had started his career at Texas Tech. Mayfield walked on as a freshman at Texas Tech before transferring to Oklahoma.
The draft begins at 7 p.m. Thursday.
