Reward increased for return of Picasso etching stolen from Milwaukee art dealer

"Torero," a work by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso, was stolen Feb. 16 from a Milwaukee art dealer.

A reward for the safe return of a stolen Pablo Picasso etching has increased to $7,500, a Milwaukee art dealer announced Wednesday.

The work, "Torero," was stolen from DeLind Fine Art Appraisals LLC, 761 N. Jefferson St., between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Feb. 16. 

"We want it back!" Michael T. Goforth, co-owner of DeLind, said in an email.

"Torero," which Picasso created in 1949, was at the business because DeLind was hired to sell the work. The etching is worth an estimated $35,000 to $50,000. The original reward was $5,000.

Anyone with information about the theft or etching is asked to contact the Milwaukee Police Department at (414) 935-7360 or the FBI.
