Watercolor Colored Pencils

Hi there! I’m back with ADORNit Art Play Coloring Books to highlight the Hello Friend Coloring Book.

Coloring with Black is a real challenge for me and today I decided to use the Watercolor pencils from Leisure Arts to explore it on my illustration. This illustration is part of the Hello Friend Art Play Coloring Book and you have to see all the 12 illustrations included on that book. You will love them.

I colored the flower and leaves with only two colors, black and red. To be honest was difficult because all the tones included on the Watercolor Colored Pencils of Leisure Arts are great for this technique. The process was very simple. I just added color to the borders and then with my aquapinter wash the color to down.

After color my flower-banner, I let the paper dry and fussy cut in silhouette with my scissors and let it aside for a while. Then I took a piece of watercolor paper and cut it in a layer size. This is 3-3/4″x5″ and on the upper part I colored with the same two tones, black and red and added water with the aquapainter and let the water run.

I cut a card base of Whisper White card stock on regular size, 4-1/4″x11″ with score in 5-1/2″ and cover the front with a the scrip black side of Chamberry Wordplay Paper from ADORNit. Then I pasted the watercolored layer and paste the flower using dimensionals or double sided foam tape. As final touch, I added some drops of Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
