Prep softball district roundup: Palmetto Ridge routs South Fort Myers in district tourney
The Palmetto Ridge High School softball team beat South Fort Myers 16-0 in three innings, in the Class 7A-District 12 quarterfinals on Monday.
Baylee Haggard picked up the win pitching a no-hitter, with nine strike outs in three innings. Haggard also passed the 200 strikeout mark for the season.
Lynndsey Dixon led the Bears with three RBIs. Sami Hamilton-Creel had two RBIs. Haggard also passed the 200 strikeout
“Ladies did what they needed to do to win,” Palmetto Ridge coach Brian Creel said. ‘”Great pitching by Baylee Haggard to strikeout every batter she faced. Good first playoff win.”
Palmetto Ridge hosts Gulf Coast in the district semifinal on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
