Jeff Corwin to experience Brevard Zoo at Safari Under the Stars fundraiser

• Corwin played himself when he guest-starred on an episode of "CSI: Miami"

If you go to the 2018 Safari Under the Stars fundraiser at Brevard Zoo, we promise, it'll definitely be an experience. After all, the guest of honor is animal conservationist, TV personality and author Jeff Corwin, best known for hosting "The Jeff Corwin Experience" on Animal Planet.

During Corwin's presentation, “Tales from the Field with Jeff Corwin” from 10 to 11 a.m. April 28, he'll share stories about his international animal adventures intertwined with messages of hope and humanity.

The zoo’s signature fundraiser, Safari Under the Stars, has featured other celebrities in the animal kingdom. Past headliners include fellow animal conversationist Jack Hanna; Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin and a "Dancing With the Stars" champ; actress Morgan Fairchild ("Friends," "Falcon Crest"); and conservationist Temple Grandin, to name a few.

An Animal Planet star since the early 2000s, Corwin hosted "Ocean Mysteries with Jeff Corwin" from 2011-16 on ABC. His current show, "Ocean Treks with Jeff Corwin," airs at 10:30 a.m. Saturdays on WFTV channel 9 or online at littonweekendadventure.com.

When he's not filming with animals or checking out exotic locales, there's a chance he's writing. Corwin's written several books, including "100 Heartbeats: The Race to Save Earth’s Most Endangered Species," as well as children's books.

A Friday night VIP event and the Saturday night gala are open exclusively to sponsors. Tickets are $50 per guest for zoo members and $60 per guest for nonmembers. Funds raised will go to the zoo’s animal wellness, conservation and education programs.
