Natchitoches man, 11-year-old injured in ATV accident

A Natchitoches man and a juvenile were injured in an ATV crash on Paul Jordan Road near Natchitoches Monday morning according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Police and rescue workers responded to a reported Side by Side ATV crash with injuries on the road north of Natchitoches at about 10:49 a.m. According to the Louisiana State Police, an 11-year-old Natchitoches juvenile was operating a 2010 Can Am traveling northbound on Paul Jordan Road when he apparently ran off the road the right, over-corrected, then crossed the road to the left striking some mailboxes causing the vehicle to overturn on its side before coming to a rest.

The juvenile was airlifted to Rapides Regional Medical Center with moderate and what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. A passenger, idenitified as 34-year-old Joseph L. Nash of Natchitoches, was transported from the scene to Rapides Regional Medical Center with moderate non-life threatening injuries.
