Hip-hop pioneer and movie star Ice Cube will headline the Rave's Eagles Ballroom July 14. Tickets ($47.50 to $57.50) go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday

The Rave has booked a hot summer show for the Eagles Ballroom with Ice Cube July 14.

A hip-hop pioneer in the groundbreaking gangsta rap group N.W.A., with a successful solo rap career that kicked off in the '90s, Ice Cube transitioned into a bankable movie star with starring roles in "Boyz n the Hood," "Three Kings," and the "Friday," "Barbershop" and "Ride Along" film franchises.

He hasn't released an album since 2010, but he's working on a new album, "Everythang's Corrupt." There's also been renewed interest in his music and career, thanks to the 2015 blockbuster N.W.A. biopic "Straight Outta Compton" (which Ice Cube produced), and the group's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.

Tickets for Ice Cube are $47.50 to $57.50, on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the Rave box office (2401 W. Wisconsin Ave.), by calling (414) 342-7283 or visiting therave.com.
