About 10 teams expressed interest in signing former Titans quarterback Jake Locker, the eighth overall pick in the 2011 draft, after he retired from the NFL after only four seasons, his agent told Sports Illustrated in a profile published online Thursday.

But Locker never knew about the opportunities – because he made his agent promise not to tell him – and never considered attempting a comeback. He said watching Marcus Mariota’s success “looks fun.”

“But I never had any doubt,” Locker said. “Never once have I regretted what I did. Naw. No way.”

Locker appeared in just 30 career games and ended the 2013 and ‘14 seasons on injured reserve.

He completed 57.5 percent of his passes for 4,967 yards, 27 touchdowns, 22 interceptions and a 79.0 passer rating. He won nine of his 23 starts.

Locker returned home to northwest Washington state, dedicated his life to family and faith, and serves as an assistant high school football coach.

“Jake loved football,” fellow former Titans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck said. “He just didn’t love being in the NFL.”
