Start-up agbioscience companies shine in Indiana

The president and CEO of AgriNovus Indiana says five Hoosier agbioscience companies will help further the agriculture industry.

A start-up company showcase recently highlighted the great work and innovation happening right here in Indiana, according to Beth Bechdol.

“We had data science for vineyards, new ways of approaching swine vaccines using molecules from Indiana sweet corn, and new sensor IoT technologies to focus on bee hive health and issues around bee populations,” she says.

She tells Brownfield one of the companies is addressing hunger on a global scale.

“There was a presentation about food preservation and some of the most difficult parts of the developing world,” she says. “These entrepreneurs are thinking about not just a market place in Indiana or the United States, but some places around the world that maybe have some serious problems with food access and food safety.”

Participating companies included Jua Technologies, Aggressively Organic, ZeaVaxx, The Bee Corp, and VinSense.

This was the second agbiosciences start-up showcase by AgriNovus Indiana and Purdue Foundry.
