Sponsored tweets from airlines

I suppose it was only a matter of time before airline marketing departments started selling access to their twitter followers. Doesn’t make it any less disappointing, though.

United Airlines was up front about it, prefacing the post with “Sponsored” so we all know they were paid to do it.

And this isn’t the first time United has gotten in on that act. They’re also a sponsor of a TV show on BloombergTV and have previously shared links on the day episodes are airing:

And then there are the less obvious versions. Did Delta really mean to endorse this blog about jewelry and fashion? Or was someone clicking buttons while logged in to the wrong account?
