Get ready for a lot more Dunkin’ Donuts in Montgomery.

The company announced a deal this week to bring seven new locations to Alabama’s capital during “the next several years,” with the first two scheduled to open in 2019. The deal was signed with Lagunita Franchise Operations, which currently operates seven Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Mobile and Mississippi.

“We’ve had success investing in these communities, so we felt Montgomery was a natural fit for us,” franchisee Damon Dunn said.

Dunkin' Donuts announced plans this week to open seven new locations in Montgomery over the next few years.

No specific locations were announced, but Dunn said they’re scouting potential spots throughout Montgomery as well as Millbrook, Prattville, Selma and Troy. Dunn said the group would “prefer” drive-through access at all locations.

The company announced in 2016 that it had signed a separate deal with a different franchisee to develop four new Dunkin’ Donuts in the Montgomery area, with the first expected to open in 2017. A spokesperson could not immediately confirm whether that deal was still in place.

For now, Montgomery’s only location is at 8025 Vaughn Road, near the Taylor Road intersection.
