Ag Community Relief stepping up for Oklahoma wildfire victims

The president of Ag Community Relief says a 200-mile search is underway to find hay and other supplies for those affected by recent wildfires in Oklahoma.

Matt Schaller with the Michigan-based non-profit says after working with counterparts in Kansas, volunteers are coming up short handed as hay supplies remain tight in the Great Plains.

Oklahoma’s governor has declared a state of emergency for 52 counties stricken by drought.

Ag Community Relief coordinates volunteers and donations across the U.S. to help farmers and ranchers who have experienced devastation.

A volunteer convoy is being coordinated from Michigan to help farmers and ranchers in Oklahoma impacted by wildfires that have burned more than 300-thousand acres.

Online donations are also being accepted.
