A new "H.E.A.L. Tribe aims to get people healthy through a whole food plant-based diet.

A kick-off meeting for the H.E.A.L. Tribe will be held Wednesday, April 25, at 5:30 p.m., at the Bonefish Grill, 795 E. Merritt Island Causeway, Merritt Island, FL 32953.

RSVP for a “self-paid” whole food plant-based meal by April 20 at (407) 373-5959.

The Merritt Island event is organized by Lillian McDermott, host of The Lillian McDermott Radio Show.

From the years on her radio show, McDermott has learned that in order to heal we must consider, in addition to eating the right foods, how the mind, body, and spirit affect our wellbeing. “There is no pharmaceutical pill that can do what a whole food plant-based lifestyle can to prevent and reverse disease,” McDermott says.

The Standard American Diet (SAD) contributes to diseases that are unnecessary and preventable. It can be difficult to change our beliefs and habits concerning food. When we do change, it can create social isolation. The H.E.A.L. Tribe will come together and create a loving, safe place where we can embrace health.

If you want to be healthy but do not know how to achieve your goals, mark your calendars, RSVP, and take the first step towards taking your life and health back.

“If you are tired of counting calories, avoiding fat, or starving yourself, the H.E.A.L. Tribe is waiting for you,” McDermott says.

The Lillian McDermott Radio Show can be heard weekdays at 8 a.m., noon, and 5 p.m., and on Saturdays at 11 a.m. at WhenYouNeedaFriend.com.
