Roger & Gallet Feuille de Figuier Wellbeing Water

Part of the Roger & Gallet appeal is that the brand has retained its eau de cologne roots, so that makes for very fresh – and very French – experience. This is billed as their lightest and most vibrant fragrance which is an accurate description. Feuille de Figuier is crisp and green with sweet, fruity notes and a touch of orange flower. When you spritz, it’s cooling and reviving and if someone told you it’s the smell of sitting in the shade on a hot day under a fig tree you’d get it immediately!

I always think of fig as very sweet, which of course it can be, but fig leaves have a special scent of their own – you can smell the tree over the fruit and apparently, the French Royal and Imperial court gardens were full of them. I can easily see myself taking this from the fridge for a spritz in high summer although I’m not sure I’d pick it out as a daily wear scent. It’s also £39 which for some reason seems a lot for a ‘wellbeing water’, although that is marketing I can really get on board with because you feel good about it at first sight. Luckily, there’s a smaller version for £19.50 and that would be my option unless you think you want to douse in it. Its purpose is to make you feel refreshed, cooled and revived and I think it’s fulfilled that brief. You can find it HERE.
