Survey shows soybean acres might surpass corn acres

A farmer survey shows soybean acres this year might surpass corn acres.  The survey done by Farm Futures found producers are planning to put in 91.5 million acres of soybeans and 90 million acres of corn.  If that happens, it would be the first time U.S. growers planted more soybeans than corn since 1983.

The survey shows corn acreage will fall 150 thousand acres or two-tenths of a percent while soybean acreage will go up 1.5%.

The same Farm Futures survey also found producers looking to increase spring wheat, sorghum and cotton plantings this year.
