RB Frank Gore to play 14th NFL season after signing with Miami Dolphins

Frank Gore is coming home.

RB Frank Gore has nine career 1,000-yard rushing seasons.

The soon-to-be-35-year-old running back has agreed to terms with the Miami Dolphins.

Gore, who was born in South Florida, played at Coral Gables High School before joining the University of Miami's Hurricanes. He is signing a one-year deal, according to ESPN.

Kenyan Drake will likely open 2018 as the Dolphins' starting tailback. But when the news emerged Thursday that Damien Williams was signing with the Chiefs, Miami turned to Gore for depth.

This will mark Gore’s 14th season in the league. Last year, his third with the Indianapolis Colts, he ran the ball 261 times for 961 yards and three touchdowns — tied for his career low in scores. His 3.7-yard-per-carry average was the worst of his career.

Gore, who spent of his career with the San Francisco 49ers, ranks fifth in NFL history with 14,026 rushing yards. He is in position to continue moving up the list, needing just 76 yards to pass Hall of Famer Curtis Martin for fourth place.
