If you're still hung over from Brewers' opening day two days later on Wednesday, April 4, a piece of chocolate layer cake paired with a jumbo hot dog might set you right.

Portillo's opened a restaurant at 17685 W. Bluemound Rd. in July 2016. Brookfield held a VIP and media day with samples of all the food items the restaurant serves for the guests at the event. Founder Dick Portillo, was there as well with a replica of his first hot dog stand.

Portillos (the only decent thing to come out of Chicago) is practically giving away slices of its famous chocolate cake to celebrate its 55th anniversary on April 4.

You can get a piece of cake for 55 cents with the purchase of any sandwich, entree, pasta or ribs, while supplies last. The cake normally costs $3.15. Last year on its anniversary, cake slices went for 54 cents.

Portillos, which started as a hot dog stand, has locations in Brookfield and Greenfield, so chocolate lovers might want to start planning their lunch routes now.
