Dairy industry shares positive story on National Ag Day

 

The dairy sector is using today’s National Ag Day event to reach out and teach consumers about their food and the farms that provided it.

Serena Schaffner with Dairy Management Inc. tells Brownfield, “When we have days like this, we want to make sure that our dairy farmers are out there and telling the stories about what they do on the farm, and how that translates to those simple, nutritious products that people love.”

Schaffner says there’s an extra effort to use social media to reach consumers.  “Let’s talk about what we’re feeding our animals to make sure that we have the best quality products.  Let’s talk about the different technology and innovation that we’re using on the farms to make sure that nutrition for the animals, nutrition for our products is really top-notch and what consumers are expecting.”

March is National Nutrition Month, and Schnaffner would like to see more farmer’s stories that showcase the simple nutrition that comes from processes on the farm.  She is encouraging writers to use both #NationalAgDay and #UndeniablyDairy when telling their stories.
