Mike Pouncey, Chargers agree to two-year contract
USA TODAY Sports
Philip Rivers has a new protector up front.
Center Mike Pouncey agreed to a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday.
A three-time Pro Bowl selection, Pouncey was released by the Miami Dolphins last Thursday amid the team's offense line shuffle, including a trade for center Daniel Kilgore.
Pouncey should take over for Spencer Pulley, who started all 16 games at center last season. Though Rivers took the fewest sacks (18) since he became a full-time starter in 2006, Los Angeles is hoping to find an improved push for a rushing attack that ranked just 24th last year with 99.7 yards per game.
