I confess that I don't have much time to do beadwork these days. But lucky for me, my mother loves to bead. So when we both admired Sonyrees Creations' lovely beaded drop earrings tutorial, she said she would make some for me! I just got them in the mail. Didn't wait to make my own ear wires. Just grabbed some ready made ones I had so I could put the earrings on almost immediately! Thanks Mum and Sonyrees Creations!

The tutorial uses both peyote and herringbone stitches.  The 11/0 seed beads make this a dainty pair.

Mum reversed the colorway for the second pair. But really the earrings can be made in any color combination

Mum will be 86 later this year so she is an inspiration to beaders everywhere! You can still bead well into your eighties!

She is relatively new to beaded jewelry making - the last 5 years or so - and has developed a passion for it. She used to make gorgeous beaded pictures, purses and shoe vamps. See this post 100 Years of South East Asian Nonya Embroidery for some of her and my grandmother's work.
