A quilt won last year at High Mountain Youth Project's bed race was donated recently to decorate the drop-in center in Ruidoso for students experiencing homelessness.

A quilt won last year by Pat and Dave Northington during the High Mountain Youth project's bed race comes home. The Northingtons were joined for the donation presentation by their granddaughter Kayleigh Rhodes. Accepting the gift were from left. volunteer Beth Rabourn, and board members Pam Tomlin, Laurie Benavides and Rita Combs.

Pat and Dave Northington, winners of the quilt created by A Quilting Stitchuation and the Stash Sisters, won at last year’s bed race raffle. They waited for the High Mountain Youth Project's Evening Drop-In Center opening to donate, “A Home For Teens,” to the center.

The Northingtons were joined in the presentation by their granddaughter Kayleigh Rhodes. Accepting the gift for the youth project was volunteer Beth Rabourn, board members Pam Tomlin, Laurie Benavides and Rita Combs.

The quilt will be displayed on the walls of the center on Mechem Drive.  The youth project is a volunteer organization dedicated to providing a safe place for teams experiencing homelessness to spend the evening studying and preparing for the next day.
