Two men were killed and one person was injured in a shooting about 11:25 p.m. Thursday in the 4200 block of N. 27th St., Milwaukee police said.

Malyk T. Smith, 20, and Romale R. Richardson, 34, died at the scene, police said.

Investigators are searching for a known male suspect, the Police Department said in a news release.

Police initially reported that there were two victims in the shooting. But about 9 a.m., investigators said they learned that another male had been injured. He went to a hospital and had a serious gunshot wound, police said.

A few hours after the shooting, a driver crashed into a squad car at the scene and two officers suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. The driver stayed on scene and will be cited, the department said.
