Lancome L’Absolu Lacquer

You know, I think this formula of lip wear is my new favourite. These new ‘lacquers’ from Lancome are such a comfortable wear, falling somewhere between a gloss and a gel tint in formula. I have some beautiful nude shades here and one darker colour, but I’ve really fallen for is First Date in a baby pink. I say ‘baby’ but it does deepen on wear (as do all the shades I’ve tried) as the tint aspect beds in.

In the wear, there is a very light ‘tack’ but nothing like the gloop of a gloss. I honestly think they have a lip smoothing effect (I’ve no press release or ingredients list so it’s hard to know if there is hyaluronic in it but from the feel I think maybe so) and the last is very, very good.

I’d disagree with the Lancome website description of ‘high shine’ – it’s more of a subtle shine and ideally you’d apply two layers for the best effect. Let the first layer dry off for a moment and then apply the second. If you like an understated lip, the shades I have are perfect for that (and those days when you want to do a deep shade eye and need to balance with less of a lip).
