Packers players, fans react to release of Jordy Nelson

When the news hit the internet that the Green Bay Packers had decided to move on from longtime wide receiver Jordy Nelson, Packers fans were in turns shocked, saddened and even angry.

While Nelson is undoubtedly a lock to join the Packers Hall of Fame someday (an eventuality the team even went out of its way to mention in the press release announcing the move) the team’s second-round selection in the 2008 draft will be playing elsewhere in 2018 after a decade in Green Bay.

The Packers reportedly did attempt to keep Nelson at a much lower number:

It wasn’t just fans and media members who took to social media to share their feelings about the moves, as both current and former teammates of Nelson's went on Twitter and Instagram to pay tribute.

While the Packers and their fans turn the page, it appears Nelson is not wasting any time doing the same:
