It’s not easy being green, but it is easy to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Brevard!

The green beer, corned beef and cabbage, St. Patrick’s Day parties, parade, Irish dancers, traditional Irish music, and everyone dressed in green makes for a happy St. Patrick’s Day. Here’s what’s on tap for St. Patrick’s Day 2018 in Brevard.

Parade

St. Patrick’s Day Parade: Ancient Order of Hibernians, Melbourne, Florida Division 2, in conjunction with the city of Melbourne and Meg O’Malley’s Restaurant and Irish Pub, will host the parade at 11 a.m. March 17 on New Haven Avenue in downtown Melbourne. Features floats, live entertainment, Grand Marshall Kathy Meehan, aka the mayor of Melbourne, and Mia Rozengota, the 12-year-old Irish step dancing award winner, as Colleen Queen of the Parade. Parade participants are asked to be in place by 10 a.m.

Parties

St. Patrick’s Day party: From 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. March 17 at Hogan’s Irish Pub, 6600 N. Atlantic Ave., Cape Canaveral. Features include entertainment by String Daddy, Celtic Notes, Emerald Knights Irish Dancers, among others. Plus traditional Irish food, beers, ciders, and whiskey. Admission is free. Meg’ O’Malley’s Shamrockn’ Festival: The fun starts with an 8 a.m. Irish breakfast buffet inside and out, entertainment on two stages from 9 a.m. to close March 17 at Meg O’Malley’s, 812. E. New Haven Ave., Melbourne. Featured entertainment includes bagpipers, Cahir O’Doherty, Irish dancers, Kindred Spirits, John McDonald, among others. Plus traditional Irish food, beers and more. St. Patrick’s Day party at Nolan’s: Features all-day entertainment and food from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. March 17 at Nolan’s Irish Pub, 204 W. Cocoa Beach Causeway, Cocoa Beach. Look for music by the Brohams, Paudie NcNeela, Bill Mullen, Paul Rowan, Dave Birks, Nolan’s Bards Traditional Irish Band, and the Brevard Police and Fire Pipes and Drums, Emerald Knights Irish Dancers. There also will be traditional Irish food, beer, merchandise, face painting, outdoor tents, stage, seating, and more. Admission is free. Proceeds benefit Our Saviour Catholic School. Siggy’s St. Patrick’s Day party: Features corned beef and cabbage from noon to close, drink specials, entertainment and live music by Twisted Minds at 9 p.m. March 17 at Siggy’s, 1153 Malabar Road N.E., Palm Bay. Call 321-952-0104 or visit siggysamericanbar.com.

St. Patrick’s Day celebration: Viera Elk’s Lodge 2817, 5820 S. US 1, Rockledge, will host the event at 11 a.m. March 17. Includes corned beef and rye sandwich entrees, french fries, cole slaw, and pickle for $10, with Irish drink specials at 11:30 a.m. and entertainment at 1 p.m. by Melbourne City Pipe and Drum. “Harrigan, That’s Me:” Harbor City Harmonizers present the St. Patrick’s Day-themed concert at 2 p.m. March 17 at Palm Bay Magnet High School, 101 Pirate Lane, Melbourne. Emmet Cahill: Celtric Thunder’s tenor Emmet Cahill will perform traditional Irish songs at 7 p.m. March 24 at Satellite High, 300 Scorpion Court, Satellite Beach. ‘Hair today, gone tomorrow’ fundraiser

St. Baldrick’s Big Shave: The hair-raising fun will be from 1 to 5 pm. March 17 at the Avenue Viera in Central Park, 2261 Town Center Ave., Melbourne. Volunteer shavees will shave their heads to raise money for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which helps childhood cancer. The St. Baldrick’s kickoff event will be at 7 p.m. March 16 at the World of Beer at the Avenue. To donate, visit stbaldricks.org/head-shaving.
