Cave After Dark, Irish Fest and more to do around Wisconsin this week

Burlington: Hills Are Alive Trail Run/Walk. Walk or run routes of 3, 6, 9 or 12 miles through KD park beginning at 10:30 a.m. March 11. The race is dog-friendly. It costs $35 per person in advance or $43 the day of. See xcthrillogy.com.

Paved walkways lead through Cave of the Mounds, a National Natural Landmark in Blue Mounds.

Cave of the Mounds: Cave After Dark Hooley in the Hollows. Celebrate St. Patrick's Day underground at Cave of the Mounds at 6 p.m. March 17. This event includes a treasure hunt, beer and wine samples and Irish music in the cave. It's open to visitors age 21 and older and costs $30. See caveofthemounds.com.

Kansasville: Earliest Migrants Hike. Bring your binoculars for this early morning bird hike to see some of the season's first migrants return to Richard Bong State Recreation Area. Meet at the Visitor Center at 7:30 a.m. See wiparks.net.

New London: St. Patrick's Day Parade & Irish Fest. Wisconsin's largest St. Patrick's Day parade kicks off at 1 p.m. March 17 in this town that changes its name to New Dublin every March. The rest of the day includes Celtic music, Irish food and more. See newdublin.com.

Viroqua: Kickapoo Gold Open House and Pancake Breakfast. Enjoy an organic pancake breakfast, free tours of the sugar house and horse-drawn wagon tours of the sugar bus at the Kickapoo Gold farm March 17. Breakfast is $7 adults, $4 for kids 4-11 and free for kids 3 and under. See kickapoogold.net.
