Among all of the intriguing players and stories that the will have in store for us in 2018, one of the most interesting ones will be second-year Ryan Switzer. Drafted in the fourth round last year, many expected a lot more from him as a rookie.

Switzer was an exciting return specialist, getting better week after week. However, his participation on offense was pretty limited and disappointing. Most of the times, he was used as a gadget player on jet sweep plays and not as an actual receiver.

When Cole Beasley was injured in week 17, the rookie proved capable of owning the slot receiver role. However, Beasley isn't a guy who'll be easily replaceable, which gives the Cowboys a dilemma they must find an answer for.

Will they find a way to get both Switzer and Beasley on the field at the same time? Are they willing to let go one of Cowboys Nation's favorites for purposes?

Of course, we don't know how any of this will turn out. But what we do know, is that Ryan Switzer is getting ready to go next season.

Former Dallas Cowboy WR Jesse Holley dropped a video last Tuesday on Twitter, showing how Switz worked out with a conditioning drill which looked anything but simple.

Just about every NFL player is hard at work during the offseason, so it doesn't come as a surprise to see a young player like him doing his best in March. However, it definitely is a nice and refreshing sight for Cowboys Nation.

The tweet came with an interesting quote from Jesse, including an optimistic take on the young 5'8 receiver.

“I'll bet the bank nobody works harder than this kid & and I've been around some of (your) favorites & I´m still betting on #10.” Jesse Holley on Ryan Switzer

The product out of North Carolina has quickly become a loved personality by fans and a very likeable player. It's easy to see that a lot of people are rooting for him. Maybe, just maybe, 2018 is his year.

Judging by the amount of wide receivers that the Cowboys interviewed during the NFL Scouting Combine, they're clearly taking the position as one of the top needs. Anyone who can come in and provide a spark for what should be a high-powered offense is exactly what this team should be looking for.

However, one can't help wondering “What about Switzer?”

He's a guy who could probably contribute way more than he did in 2017 if the coaching staff asks him too. Hopefully, he sees an increased role this year and he shows us what he's all about. The only question would be, how would Cole Beasley factor in if #10 is to get even more snaps?

Only time will tell. Best case scenario, we see them both on the field at the same time giving opposing defenses one big headache.
