Racine native wins Miss Milwaukee pageant

Haley Anya Schonter, 21, of Racine, a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, topped eight other entrants to win the 2018 Miss Milwaukee pageant Saturday night at Pius XI High School in Milwaukee.

A Racine native has won the Miss Milwaukee pageant for the second year in a row.

Haley Anya Schonter, 21, of Racine, a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, topped eight other entrants to win the 2018 Miss Milwaukee pageant Saturday night at Pius XI High School in Milwaukee.

Schonter succeeds Haley Jensen Lynam, 21, of Racine, who won the title in 2017.

Schonter, a jazz dancer who was Miss Racine in 2016, advances to the 2018 Miss Wisconsin pageant in Oshkosh on June 16.

First runner-up in the pageant was Caila Holsapple, 18, of Racine, a senior at Jerome I. Case High School. Rosie Miliacca of Oak Creek and Tara Jean Harris of Oconomowoc were the other runners-up.

Taylor Christine Stiff, 17, of Wauwatosa was named Outstanding Teen. Stiff, who is an Irish dancer, will compete in the state teen pageant in Oshkosh on June 15.
