It's going to be gorgeous: 50 degrees and sunny skies forecast in Milwaukee this week

It's going to be 50 degrees.

The National Weather Service forecasts highs close to or above 50 degrees for Monday and Tuesday. What's more, the sun is coming out.

Monday, the forecast is sunny with a high near 49. Tuesday will be even nicer with a high near 52 and mostly sunny skies.

The forecast predicts winter weather will return later in the week. Snow Lilly, the Milwaukee County Zoo's polar bear, did see her shadow on Groundhog Day Feb. 2. According to legend, that means we'll have winter into the middle of March.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, highs will be near 40. Saturday, the high will be near 38.

Summer will be here someday. For now, we'll take 50 degrees.
