The Brewers' Keon Broxton gets high-fives when he returns to the dugout after hitting a home run Saturday against the Angels.

On the field: In a game that featured the major-league debut of Los Angeles Angels pitcher Shohei Ohtani, the Brewers lost in the bottom of the ninth, 6-5. Chase Anderson started and allowed two hits and two runs in his one inning of work. Jonathan Villar went 2 for 3 with a double, and manager Craig Counsell likes the way he's swinging the bat early in camp. Keon Broxton homered, and outfielder Kyle Wren went 3 for 3 off the bench.

Weather: 52 degrees, sunny.

Cactus juice: The Brewers’ first Cactus League game Friday against the Chicago Cubs was rough for catcher Manny Piña and his family. In three trips the plate, Piña was hit twice by pitches. “I only swung the bat twice,” said Piña, who also walked. But it didn’t stop there. Piña’s wife, Leny, was struck on the forehead by a foul drive while holding her baby daughter on the concourse at Maryvale Baseball Park.

“Not a good day for the Piña family,” he said. “She’s going to be OK, but the ball hit so hard she bit down and broke a tooth. And she was holding the baby, so it could have been worse. No concussion or anything."

Scoreboard: Angels 6, Brewers 5. Record: 2-1. Sunday: Brewers at Diamondbacks, 2:10 p.m. Milwaukee RHP Jhoulys Chacin vs. Arizona RHP Zack Greinke. Webcast on mlb.com.
