Rain prompts start time change for NASCAR race in Atlanta

HAMPTON, Ga. — The probability of a rainy race day has prompted officials to move the scheduled start time of Sunday’s Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway from 2 p.m. (ET) to 1 p.m.

Although rain is predicted for most of Sunday in the track area south of Atlanta, the earlier start time gives NASCAR more latitude in trying to complete the event on its scheduled day.

If the race is postponed because of weather Sunday, it would be rescheduled Monday.
