Identical Milwaukee twins are charged with killing two people and wounding a third in apparent drug-related robberies in 2016, according to a criminal complaint released Friday.

Abdul M. Sears and Ahmad A. Sears, both 26, each face two counts of felony murder and one count of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, as party to a crime, use of a dangerous weapon, in the Aug. 9, 2016, incidents.

According to the criminal complaint:

Abdul Sears, Ahmad Sears and another person — identified by police in an earlier story as Bennie E. Bennett, 25  — drove to an apartment building in the 900 block of S. 73rd St. in West Allis, apparently with the intent to rob a marijuana dealer. After selecting the wrong apartment, where the occupant, identified in the complaint only as AJR, refused to let them in, one of the three shot through the door, injuring the occupant.

The three then fled in a Jeep Liberty to the residence of another marijuana dealer in the 4400 block of N. 36th St. in Milwaukee. As Bennett attempted to enter the residence, the occupant stabbed and slashed him. At some point during the struggle, Abdul and Ahmad Sears shot the occupant — identified in an earlier story as Billy D. Hill, 44 — multiple times, killing him, the complaint says.

After ransacking the residence and stealing a small amount of marijuana and coins, the Sears brothers carried their fatally injured accomplice Bennett to the Jeep and drove him to an associate's home 2 1/2 miles away and left him there. The associate drove Bennett to a hospital, where he died of stab wounds.

The investigation continues, the complaint said.
