Hello!  I'm excited to be helping celebrate Winnie & Walter's fourth birthday!

The focus of my card today is the Scenery: Buffalo Check Creative Screening.  I was really excited to work with the card and hadn't intended to make a Christmas card, but it just happened.  I can't argue with the Buffalo Checks!

Anyway, I started out with some gray cardstock, and used Versamark to ink through the stencil.  The good thing about Versamark is that it gives you a great subtle tone on tone look no matter what color cardstock you're working with.  The other benefit here is that it also serves as a resist.  It adds just the right amount of interest and texture to that large tree from the Winter Wonderland set which was stamped over top of the inking.

I feel like all Christmas cards should include red, so I cut a mat from red cardstock, and again inked it with the Buffalo Check screening and Versamark.  I trimmed the gray panel down so that the buffalo check pattern was continuous across the card.

The sentiment is from the Winter Wishes with Evelin T Designs set and was embossed in gold.  Note, I let the entire panel set overnight so I didn't have any interaction with the inking from the stencil.  You could heat set it, but I prefer to be on the safe side.  I also added a bit of coloring with a colored pencil where the sentiment falls on the tree to set if apart a bit more.

I finished this off with a dark chocolate cardstock mat to frame the top and bottom of my stamped/inked panel.  I also added a bit of ground for the tree using Copics.

I did kick around the idea of adding something extra to the card, but decided to keep things clean and simple so the focus would be on that buffalo check pattern showing through.

That's all for me!  Thanks so much to Shay for having me!
