Wisconsin FFA Farm Forum held

More than 200 Wisconsin high school juniors interested in agriculture careers got an early start to National FFA Week.

Amy Eckelberg with Wisconsin Farm Bureau says their FFA Farm Forum offers several ag leadership and education sessions.  “Some of them are, you know, advocating for agriculture in a little bit more general sessions and then some of them talk about some of the specific Farm Bureau programs such as the Young Farmer and Agriculturist Program that FFA members can get involved in after they turn eighteen.”

State FFA President Ciera Ballmer from Clinton tells Brownfield the Farm

Forum Conference is a great opportunity for FFA members to learn about leadership and to find their voice for agriculture.  “We’re really learning more in-depth about the agriculture industry, and their potential in the future, so really discovering their options to continue with a career and future opportunities within this great agriculture industry.”

Tomah FFA co-advisor Emma Huber brought two members to the conference.  She told Brownfield, “I really like Wisconsin FFA’s Farm Forum Conference because it’s for my students who are interested in going into the ag industry or if they’re curious about the agricultural industry, it kind of pushed them towards it.”

Huber says the students also get to work with and learn from other students, which often continues after the conference is over.

The 46th FFA Farm Forum was held this past weekend in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.
