Testing on dogs at the Wisconsin Humane Society in Saukville and Milwaukee has shown no more cases of a potentially deadly illness.

Last week two dogs were euthanized at the society's Ozaukee County campus after officials learned they were ill with strep zoo, a bacterial respiratory illness.

Test results on 30 dogs at the Ozaukee and Milwaukee campuses on Monday showed none had the infection. The Wisconsin Humane Society is waiting for the results of an additional 10 dogs.

An 11-year-old Pomeranian surrendered by a family and a 1-year-old Shepherd mix were euthanized Wednesday. The Pomeranian was surrendered at the Milwaukee campus of the Humane Society and later transferred to Ozaukee.

The Wisconsin Humane Society will continue to limit dog intake from the public and other shelters until the remaining test results are known and a deep cleaning of isolation spaces at the Ozaukee and Milwaukee campuses is finished.
