Stamp Review Crew: Petal Palette Edition

It’s time for the Stamp Review Crew: Petal Palette Edition! If this is your very first visit to one of our hops, the Stamp Review Crew is a group of international Stampin’ Up! demonstrators whose mission is to do a blog hop on the first, third and fifth Mondays of each month. Our hops are unique because each of us features the same stamp set used in a variety of ways, giving you loads of inspiration for that set! The hops are archived at the Stamp Review Crew blog. You will be able to click through each hop at any time, going directly to the posts for that hop whenever you want! This week we are featuring the Petal Palette stamp set, one of my favorites from the Occasions Catalog. If you are following along in order, you have just arrived from the super-talented Tanya Boser.   After visiting me, you will continue to the next stop, the incomparable Bronwyn Eastley. She is always an inspiration. Enjoy this week’s hop!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Petal Palette is my favorite set from the Occasions Catalog. I love the coordinating Petals and More Thinlets, and there is just something about that adorable bird that tugs at my heart.  I loved the birds so much, I had to create a left-facing one.

Stamp Review Crew: Petal Palette EditionTo create the left-facing version, I inked the image with Basic Black Archival Ink and stamped it onto a piece of plastic. (I used the plastic sheet from my Stamp-a-ma-jig.)  I immediately used this plastic sheet as my new “stamp”, stamping onto Whisper White cardstock.  How easy is that? Look how cute they are as they frame the sentiment.  A trio of rhinestones add a bit of bling.

Lemon Lime Twist Glimmer Paper paired with Petals & More thinlets were used to create the leaves and border.  The “Floral” Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folder adds texture.

This is the fifth card I have made with this bundle, but it may just be my favorite! Here are the others. To see the original post in which they appear, just click on the picture!
