Computing Community Consortium Blog

The goal of the Computing Community Consortium (CCC) is to catalyze the computing research community to debate longer range, more audacious research challenges; to build consensus around research visions; to evolve the most promising visions toward clearly defined initiatives; and to work with the funding organizations to move challenges and visions toward funding initiatives. The purpose of this blog is to provide a more immediate, online mechanism for dissemination of visioning concepts and community discussion/debate about them.


RFI on Integration of Automated Driving Systems (ADS) into the Highway Transportation System

The US Department of Transportation Federal Highway Transportation System has released a Request for Information on Integration of Automated Driving Systems (ADS) into the Highway Transportation System. Responses are due February 24th, 2018. 

Summary:

Automated Driving Systems (ADS) are increasling being tested and introduced onto the public roadways. The FHWA is interested in hearing from the public, including stakeholders (e.g. State and local agencies, vehicle manufacturing industry, road hardware and intelligent transportation systems industry, related associations, transporation advocates, ADS hardware and software platform developers, etc.) on a range of issues related to assessing the infrastructure requirements and standards that may be necessary for enabling safe and efficient operations of ADS.
