Did you miss out on the inaugural and incredible ZorkFest in Atlantic City in December 2017? Or maybe you loved it so much that you’ve been chomping at the bit for details on the next event. Either way you’re in luck. Details on ZorkFest 2018 in Las Vegas are now available!
The event will be housed at Treasure Island Hotel and Casino on Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-27, 2018. There’s a welcome cocktail hour on Friday night hosted by Gogo and, new to the 2018 edition, a “Podcasters After Dark” event on Saturday night featuring a crew of the biggest bestest Vegas podcasts recording live with audience interaction.
Much like the 2017 version the ZorkFest event will operate on two tracks, split between Casino Loyalty programs and Travel (mostly Air & Hotel) Loyalty programs. At any given time there will be up to three sessions running to help ensure that there’s something interesting and compelling to learn about. Full details on the session schedule are due out at the end of March but an overview is available at the program website now.
I presented several of the sessions on travel loyalty at the 2017 event. Topics ranged from an introduction to the way loyalty programs operate to more advanced plays on maximizing spend to travel more and better without breaking the budget. This is not a manufactured spending seminar (though that always comes through a little bit) and not only about how to sign up for as many credit cards as possible (though I’ll certainly share my advice on that topic, whether asked for such or not). I expect the 2018 version to be similar on the travel loyalty front, with additional detailed sessions about specific programs (e.g. Avios) and destinations (Vegas, duh!) on the agenda.
There are also a handful of optional events, including Friday night dinner, Mimosa breakfast on Saturday morning and an open table discussion on Sunday, assuming you wake up on time following the Podcasters After Dark mayhem.
I’m looking forward to having some time to venture in to a few of the casino loyalty sessions this time around. There’s always more to learn and I missed out on most of that last time around.
