Ex-Lions coach Caldwell lists mansion for $2.5M

The Lions’ might still classify as a fixer-upper.

Jim Caldwell’s Metro Detroit home? Well, not so much.

The recently fired head coach of the Lions has listed his Franklin mansion — and for a cool $2.5 million, it could be all yours.

The house, built in 2012 and listed by Renee Lossia Acho & Associates of Birmingham, hit the market five days ago and is 11,700 square feet, featuring six bedrooms, five full bathrooms, a basketball court — with Honolulu blue padded walls — and an impressive bar area, the backsplash currently lined with a number of footballs.

Located at 26570 Drummound Court in the Birmingham School District, the house also has a chef’s kitchen, his and hers offices, a four-car heated garage and a mighty nice outdoor patio.

In case you’re looking to gawk at the 1.6-acre estate, you’re out of luck. There’s no open house scheduled, as viewings are by appointment only.

If you’re crunching the numbers and if you put $500,000 down, your monthly payment will be about $10,000 — assuming good credit.

Caldwell, 63, was Lions coach for four seasons, leading the team to two playoff appearances. His overall record was 36-28.

He was fired in January, and replaced by former New England Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia.
