First Look: Hyatt Times Square

NY Insider emailed me off his iPhone last night while visiting the new Hyatt Times Square:

[S]oft opening happening now…rooftop bar scheduled to open right before the Superbowl (but not for New Years)…decent size footprint for rooms….Braun alarm clocks, people will definitely steal them….53 (maybe 54?) stories….limited meeting space, gym is ok…outsourced spa, still under construction. Suites are smallish, but stylish enough…friendly staff (but then again, I was on a hospitality tour).

Here are some iPhone photos of the rooms:

    Beds

    Desk

Side table with alarm clock that is going to disappear

      Television and minibar

This is what the toilet looks like

    Tub

    Sink

  1. Why is Hyatt so non-transparent when it comes to hotel categories and points required for redemption?

  2. It seems it should be simple enough to add a $50 charge to guests’ folios when alarm clocks go missing. No different than, say, a bathrobe.

  3. Does it make sense to use a Diamond upgrade in the hope of getting a room with two alarm clocks so I could steal two?

  4. Thank you for the review, the pictures and descriptions are useful. I enjoy visiting New York and free Hyatt nights through UR points make properties like this fairly achievable.

I haven’t had too much difficulty figuring out the numbers of required points, just login to hyatt.com, make a reservation for any date, and click “Show Hyatt Gold Passport Points” up top.
