Top 10 girls high school basketball teams in Knoxville area

1. Morristown West (21-2) — The Trojans finished the regular season undefeated in District 2-AAA at 12-0. They have won their last eight games. Morristown West held its opponents to an average of 43 points per game.

2. Bearden (21-7) — The Bulldogs finished their district schedule on an eight-game win streak and tied for first with Hardin Valley at 13-3. Grace van Rij scored 16 points and Jakhyia Davis 14 in Friday's win over Farragut

3. Oak Ridge (21-5) — The Wildcats finished the season with four wins, including the rematch with Campbell Co, to tie the Cougars atop District 3-AAA. Jada Guinn scored 23 points in that win, while Mykia Dowdell had 17.

4. Hardin Valley (22-5) — The Hawks stumbled a bit in the second half of the season and finished at 13-3 in the district. They ended on a high note with a win over Maryville, in which Abbey Cornelius had 23 points and 13 rebounds.

5. William Blount (20-8) — The Governors won two of their three games in the final week of the regular season, the wins over West and Heritage. Alyssa Walker had a good showing in the loss to Hardin Valley with four 3’s to finish with 18 points.

6. Campbell Co. (19-8) — The Cougars finished their season on a 10-1 streak after the Christmas tournament to earn a share of the No. 1 spot in District 3-AAA. Madison Brady hit five 3s to lead Campbell Co. to a win over Anderson Co. in its final game with 18 points.

7. Maryville (19-6) — The Rebels finished their season with three district losses and fell to fourth in District 4-AAA at 10-6. Gracie Midkiff scored 17 points and Lindsey Taylor 13 in the loss to Hardin Valley.

8. Northview Academy (24-2) — The Cougars finished the season with two wins after being upset by Carter last week. Campbell Penland scored 22 points, including three 3-pointers in the win against Union County.

9. Carter (17-4) — The Hornets won their last two games last week, an upset of Northview and a win over AAA West. Sarah Irwin had a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds in the second win.

10. Tellico Plains (24-2) — The Bears are perfect in District 4-A. They won three games last week, including a rematch against Sequoyah, who had accounted for Tellico Plains' second loss. Chloe Yearwood scored 23 points and had three steals in that game.
