The Gallina by McGarvey Custom Homes is the final villa in LaCaille at Quail West.

The last of the 45 villas in LaCaille at Quail West has been completed by McGarvey Custom Homes. The furnished three-bedroom, plus study, three-and-one-half bath model features a transitional style by Jeff Schreier of Schreier Interiors that accentuates the artistry in interior design through careful selection of pieces and installations that echo the home’s coastal Florida inspiration in bold relief. The Gallina is priced at $1.385 million.

The Gallina’s larger lot size required a new floor plan to accommodate expanded outdoor living areas. Contemporary design trends were filtered through LaCaille’s original southern European presentation to create a harmonizing but distinctly 2018 home.

The 3,100-air-conditioned square-foot model includes a three-car garage, lush landscaping and large outdoor living areas for a total of 5,233 square-feet. The hint-of-sunset colored exterior is distinguished by Sierra blended concrete-paver circular driveway, walkway and raised entryways. Medium-gray flat slate roof tiles, louvered shutters, and substantial mahogany corbels add a modern Florida style to the elevation.

Clean-lined decorative bronze coach lights and a chandelier at the entry highlight the home while its custom-made mahogany front door and three separate raised-panel garage doors bring a strong modern-rustic charm in keeping with its neighbors. Several artisan-level trellis-style carvings punctuate the smooth stucco walls. Defining white trim and intricately stepped and detailed fascia in a rich gray complete this home’s updated variations of the LaCaille theme. It is a fitting final interpretation of how a planned neighborhood can evolve and stay current while remaining true to its original architectural guidelines, McGarvey style.

Upon entry, the home’s grand foyer is formed by twin reception areas, each with  coffered ceiling details and lit by a frosted crystal ceiling fixture shaped like a modern interpretation of sun-bleached coral on the half shell. The curved lines in the side table and large antiqued wall mirror suggest movement, subtly introducing the home’s sea and sand theme.

Schreier Interiors’ transitional design theme and quiet coastal palette is presented in surf-softened colors accented by bold metalwork and large decorative-as-art pieces placed to accentuate the home’s elemental appeal and draw your eye along the Gallina’s tidal flow of open space, contemporary lines and silvery colors.

As in the grand foyer, coffered ceiling details are carried on in all the main living areas and the master suite. Flooring throughout is an oversized, washed-birch colored, horizontal Ombrea Ghiaccio plank style ceramic tile. The west-facing great room is flooded with natural light across its living, dining and kitchen areas, built to McGarvey standards with 12-foot high ceilings, 8-foot shaker-style doors with wide casings and substantial baseboards.

Quadruple pocketing-away slider doors open onto a brick-pavered outdoor living areas. All of the sliders and windows will be screened with Phifer SheerWeave see-through panels, which allow light in while blocking the view from the outside. Incorporated as an on-trend design element, all of the black-framed sliders will be screened in black, while the white windows will be done in white to varying degrees of opacity.

Set on a stone-colored striated-line area rug, the living area’s light greige transitional sofa faces a clean-lined, wood and steel multilevel entertainment center which is flanked on either side by two vertical mirror panels that reflect every surface and movement indoors and out. Two pairs of tonal Parsons-style upholstered arm chairs are set opposite each other to complete the seating area. The size of the coffee and side tables is elegantly controlled by their round shape to continue the sense of easy movement throughout the area.

The dining area’s 60-inch round wood-on-steel table and six contemporary wood-wrapped tub chairs upholstered in medium greige continue the coastal seas palette while four massive pen-and-ink numbered shell prints mounted as mirror images to reflect back on each other as if at some imaginary water line. Dominating the room by its artisan quality composition, one of two water-clear pendant chandeliers bounces and reflects light off multiple frosted-glass sand dollar shapes strung starburst-style on polished nickel strands.

The second sand dollar pendant chandelier is suspended over the gourmet kitchen’s 32-foot-square, Carrara-look quartz-topped island. The same quartz is used on the custom-built white shaker-style lower perimeter cabinetry and is carried up the backsplash area for a seamless effect. GE Profile appliances and substantial stainless steel appointments complete the kitchen. Three greige-upholstered bar stools with chrome nailhead  trimmed arms and backs complete the island’s casual eating area. Two black iron sconces bring earthy style and a punch of strong color to the area.

The kitchen has see-through views to the outdoor living area where the pool, waterfall spa, fireplace, lounging and raised seating areas are defined on one side by a long double wall of elevated concrete planters, while the outdoor kitchen and dining areas are flanked by a colonnade to the east and large planter with triple 24-inch square stepping stones to the west.

The Gallina’s expanded plan provided outdoor living space for some of the details usually only seen on an estate-sized lot.

The study is set apart on the master suite side of the home, complete with full closet and powder bath. The wood and steel desk and file cabinet side table coordinate with the great room’s entertainment center. The chairs are upholstered to match the dining room chairs if extra seating is needed and two art prints are hung to invite contemplation.

The master suite’s double-door entry opens into a casual seating area with access through French doors to the trellised colonnade and outdoor living areas. Sand-to-stone colored carpeting provides a soft background for the fresh-greige transitional furniture set on Prosecco-colored metal feet. The natural linen-upholstered headboard is a cool backdrop for shell- colored matlasse bedding highlighted by a single washed-aqua accent pillow.

Twin table lamps flank the bed, each rendered silver-leaf coral formations reaching over four feet in height.

Oversized his and her closets have natural wood ventilated custom shelving. The master bath has a large soaking tub, a separate walk-in shower and individual his and hers charcoal-taupe shaker-style vanities with bold-variation quartz tops and chrome fixtures. Inset horizontal bands of small mosaic tiles add dimension to the walls and chrome and crystal wall sconces fashioned like water features carry on the coastal water theme.

As the last villa to be completed in Quail West’s LaCaille, the Gallina offers an opportunity to become a part of Quail West’s long tradition of innovation and willingness to embrace change in pursuit of excellence.
