Tennessee Vols: Signing day flips feature Anthony Grant, Jordan Young going to Florida State

Florida State flipped two Tennessee commitments Wednesday on national signing day.

Buford (Ga.) running back Anthony Grant is a 2018 Tennessee football commitment.

The Seminoles picked up running back Anthony Grant, who had been committed to the Vols since June, and wide receiver Jordan Young, who pledged to Tennessee last month.

Grant, a three-star prospect in the 247Sports composite rankings, flipping wasn't unexpected after he didn't sign in the December signing period. Along with UT, he visited North Carolina, Virginia Tech and FSU this winter, making Florida State his final visit.

Grant rushed for 966 yards as a senior, helping Buford (Ga.) reach the state semifinals. He's a balanced running back who has power and speed.

The Vols signed one running back in December – Jeremy Banks, a three-star prospect from Cordova.

Young flourished in his senior season, catching 66 passes for 1,562 yards and 17 touchdowns, according to MaxPreps. He visited FSU last weekend, and his flip was expected.

The Vols pivoted and signed wide receiver Cedric Tillman, who had no prior Power 5 offers.
