Scotland Cay is a small island in the coast of the Bahamas near Marsh Harbour on Great Abaco island.

Scotland Cay Bahamas

We took a flight with Bahamas air from Palm Beach to Marsh Harbour. It was an older plane and we had the first two rows of seats on the right side of the plane. It was such a unique configuration because the first two rows faced each other. So it was like we had a little party section in the plane.

Upon arrival, we had arranged for an island house manager to take us to Scotland Cay where we’d use a boat and golf carts to get around all weekend. No cars are allowed on the island, but it does have a private jet strip.

We enjoyed 3 long days and nights on the island. It was fantastic.

Each night we’d grab a roadie and head to a neighboring island for dinner. One night at the Nippers on Great Guana Cay. We took off in our small single engine boat from the marina on Scotland Cay in within about 20-25 minutes we arrived to tie up our boat in the marina on Great Guana Cay. 483760720106_0_ALB

The bar outback had great views of a little bay and the ocean.

Another night we headed over to Marsh Harbour to enjoy some fresh caught snapper at a local restaurant. The boat ride over was so peaceful.

By the time we got to Marsh Harbour it was dark outside. This made the trip back in the dark more difficult. I’m actually surprised we made it back considering how long of a boat ride it is. 754760720106_0_ALB

The final night we cooked out. We grilled fresh snapper and grouper that me and a friend had caught right off the beach with a spear and a rubber band. The guys caught and cleaned the fish and then the girls cooked it. A perfect combination.

The view from the back porch was amazing. This is a trip we’ll never forget.

If you ever get a chance to spend a weekend near Great Abaco, I’d highly recommend it.
