Top 10 girls high school basketball teams in Knoxville area

1. Morristown West (16-2) — The Trojans remain undefeated in District 2-AAA at 9-0. Blayre Shultz led them to a win over Sevier County with 28 points last week.

2. Oak Ridge (17-4) — The Wildcats still lead District 3-AAA at 10-0. Jada Guinn scored 25 points against Anderson County, and Mykia Dowdell hit the same mark against Powell.

3. Hardin Valley (19-4) — The Hawks sit atop the tight District 4-AAA at 10-2. Paige Gentry led Hardin Valley with 13 points in a win over Lenoir City, followed by Malaka Grice with 12.

4. William Blount (16-7) — The Governors are part of a three-way tie for second in District 4-AAA at 9-3 but have an edge by having beaten Maryville twice. 

5. Bearden (16-7) — The Bulldogs have won eight straight games and are also part of that three-way tie in District 4-AAA. Trinity Lee led Bearden past West with 15 points.

6. Maryville (16-3) — The Rebels are the last team in the three-way tie for second in District 4-AAA. Maryville beat Alcoa but lost to William Blount last week.

7. Northview Academy (21-1) — The Cougars are undefeated in District 3-AA at 8-0. Campbell Penland scored 17 points and hit three-3 pointers in a win over Gatlinburg-Pittman.

8. Carter (15-3) — The Hornets are second behind Northview in District 3-AA at 7-1. Sarah Irwin set a school record with 17 rebounds and had 13 points in a win over Union County.

9. Grainger (17-4) — The Grizzlies are third in District 2-AA behind South Greene and Chuckey-Doak at 6-3. Chuckey-Doak accounted for Grainger's third district loss last week.

10. Tellico Plains (19-1) — The Bears sit atop District 4-A at 7-0. Samantha Russell scored 23 points and had nine rebounds in a win over Polk County last week.
