Wheat growers: Keep NAFTA in place

Groups along the North American wheat value chain have stressed to political and trade leaders from the U.S., Canada and Mexico the importance of the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Montana wheat grower and National Association of Wheat Growers President Gordon Stoner says NAFTA has benefited wheat growers and everyone along the entire value chain from farmers to consumers.

US Wheat Associates Chairman Mike Miller, from Washington State, says NAFTA resulted in tariff-free access helping make Mexico the United States’ largest wheat customer the past two years.

In a letter, the groups emphasize that an integrated supply chain between the three countries is only effective with NAFTA in place.
