Iowa secretary of agriculture Bill Northey calls the water quality funding bill passed by the Iowa House “a tremendous next step” in efforts to improve water quality.

The bill provides nearly 300 million dollars for water quality efforts over the next 12 years.

In a statement, Northey says the funding will allow the ag department to expand its investment in locally-led water quality projects in targeted watersheds.
